Privacy and grown-ups
Ordeal is a cooperative game for kids and families. We built it to collect as little as possible. This page says exactly what the game keeps.
What the game keeps
- A nickname you type (letters and numbers only, up to 12 characters). Please do not use a full real name. Other players in your room can see it.
- A random ID stored on your device. It is not linked to your name, email or anything else. It lets the game remember your progress.
- Your progress: hero levels, stars collected, shop upgrades and hats.
What the game does not have
- No accounts, passwords, emails, ages, photos, microphone or location.
- No chat and no way to send messages to other players.
- No ads, no tracking, no analytics, no social media buttons, no links to other sites inside the game.
- No real-money purchases. Stars are earned by playing.
Other things to know
- To stop abuse, the server briefly uses your network address in memory to limit how many games one connection can start. We do not save it in the game's database. Our hosting may keep ordinary short-lived server logs.
- Names are filtered for rude words, but filters are not perfect. In a room, players can tap the flag next to another player's name to report it. Reports contain only the room code, the name that was reported, and the first few characters of the reporter's random ID.
- Your progress is stored on our server so you can keep playing after closing the game or changing network.
Erase saved data
This deletes the saved progress that belongs to this device and forgets the random ID. You can start fresh afterwards.
